Last week, Fueled attended The Next Web Conference in New York. The popular event, which drew crowds in the thousands, featured iconic speakers such as Reddit Founder Alexis Ohanian and fashion entrepreneur Mark Ecko. Mixed in with the insightful talks about our evolving digital industries, there were a number of startup presentations that caught the attention of the audience.

Here are our top 3 favorites:

Prss

Prss is on the war path to become a game changer in the digital magazine industry. Prss's technology makes it possible for anyone to create a digital interactive magazine for the iPad. We love the company's eye for detail and the intuitiveness of the platform.

Prss's web-based interface offers collaboration tools and personal customization options that allow your brand to shine. Anyone is able to earn revenues with their final creation through a very transparent pricing system (5 cents per download), making Prss an attractive platform for ambitious publishing tycoons.

Ukky

Parents take countless photos of their children with a smartphone. "Ukky" is Dutch for little one and the app helps parents to reconstruct the story of their children growing up.

The app transforms your personal library into a digital photo journal allowing you to print your photos into a hardcover photo album. We love the idea, the simple approach and the marriage of digital and physical memories.

Many startups look to change the way we communicate with each other, either through text, audio or video. The start-up ooVoo offers free high quality video chat for up to 12 friends on any device. It's like Skype for young people as the >majority of their users are under the age of 25. We're very eager to see ooVoo grow and how they’ll improve their product in the coming months.
